The journey to Wild Boundaries
Wild Boundaries is a collective of artists living and working in Cornwall, for whom Cornish Hedges are a focus of their art. This is the beginning of the journey that brought us together to promote these remarkable living structures that have defined and divided our landscape for thousands of years
Artists Amanda Richardson and Sara Bevan were commissioned by Penwith Landscape Partnership to create a series of artworks celebrating a Cornish Hedge through the seasons. These Hedges, built of stone and soil, have a tradition millennia old. The one we selected, just above the cliffs near the Land’s End, has a backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. This was a fascinating project, culminating in an exhibition at the Miners Chapel in St Just. This video gives an insight into place, process and the art we created.

Explore this Cornish lane in May. A linear garden of wild flowers, cowparsley, bluebells and red campion. This is the glory of our county in early summer, translated into textile collage. The birds are singing, filling the air with all their different songs.
