Textile Collage Artist

I am born and bred to West Cornwall, and Cornish Hedges have bounded my experiences from my earliest memories; Toadstools emerging from a creekside hedge, rose-hips in abundance above ants’ nests, primroses flowering between the big boulders of granite that form many hedges near the Land’s End.

As an artist focused on the details of landscape, hedges have framed my art.  That early fascination with all the variety of plants and bugs continues in complex patterns within my work.  My primary medium is textile collage and each plant, bird and bug is created separately, then placed on richly patterned backgrounds of hand dyed fabrics.

My art is sold both in Britain and internationally and I have sent Cornish hedges across the globe, most often with travellers who have themselves fallen in love with these remarkable living structures and wish to carry the memory with them.
